OCCJE has a Student Scholar program with the dual purpose of enhancing criminal justice education and recognizing worthy student efforts.

OCCJE serves as the tree for Student Scholar branches growing throughout the Ohio area from schools that have chapters. Student Scholars benefit the student, the school, OCCJE, and the field of Criminal Justice. Students involved with a Student Scholars chapter have a vehicle to do research, network, critique curriculum, and be recognized for their contributions. Schools with chapters have a group of students who can serve as ambassadors, advisory board members for assessment & program feedback, and who represent their school to others (possible marketers/recruiters). OCCJE gains from this Student Scholar program by accessing Criminal Justice professionals early in their career journey. The field of Criminal Justice gets exposed to these professionally developed students while they are in school as well as after their graduation.
