About OCCJE

Mission

The Ohio Council of Criminal Justice Education (OCCJE) is a nonprofit organization that is over 50 years old.

Our mission is to promote education and research in the administration of criminal justice and to facilitate communication and cooperation with practitioners on matters of mutual interest concerning education in criminal justice.

Goals

In carrying out the mission, OCCJE addresses the following four goals:

  1. Advance criminal justice education;
  2. Serve as a conduit for criminal justice education;
  3. Stimulate activities that enhance criminal justice education
    (research, assessment, experimentation, promotion, evaluation);
  4. Represent criminal justice educational programs before the public.

History

Some members of the Ohio Council of Criminal Justice Education (OCCJE) for years had voiced the need to archive the Council's records in order to preserve its history.
